Abstract

This study aims at investigating difficulties that face English language teachers who teaches oral composition in secondary level. The researcher studied oral skills carefully to help him to investigate the study (Problems Facing English Language Teachers in Teaching Oral Composition at Secondary Schools). The researcher finds that oral skills are central and essential in building and developing the teachers’ as well as learners’ level in speaking. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method. The samples for this study were chosen randomly. The researcher used questionnaire to collect data. Research data was collected through Questionnaire, which was directed toward English language teachers in Kassala state . The data was computed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS). The results show that most of the teachers neglect teaching oral skills language. It also shows that The techniques of teaching oral skills aren’t familiar enough, so teachers need more training in teaching, more listening to recorded materials may fix these problems. The subjects of this study are composed of seventy- five English language teachers at secondary level. The study recommends that, in teaching oral composition, the students need more time to talk i.e. students talking time (STT) must be maximized, and teacher talking time (TTT) minimized.
